From prototype #1 to present, Greenlight Surfboard Supply's manufacturing processes and business practices  are based on our commitment to maintaining a healthy environment.

One major aspect of this mission is our “Minimal Waste Philosophy" which encompasses:

Low Power Consumption:
We use the lowest power-consuming electrical
equipment possible, where a percentage of our
electricity comes from a windmill program.
In the upcoming years, our goal is to add solar energy and our own windmill to become completely independent of the power companies.

Bamboo Scrap:
Greenlight reclaims at least 85% of the bamboo dust created when sawing and shaping our stringers (which we cut by hand). We also grind down all the excess bamboo scrap to dust and provide this dust to customers as an epoxy thickener.

Bamboo Dust Packaging:
We package the bamboo dust epoxy thickener in a container made from sugar cane fiber. The sugar cane fiber is a by-product of the sugar making process. Greenlight Surfboard Supply encourages everyone to open their minds and use new, natural materials in every day life.

EPS Foam Scrap:
All foam scrap is brought to a nearby EPS recycling center to be either
re-used for consumer packaging, reprocessed into building materials to replace wood, or turned into energy through incineration without
giving off toxic or environmentally damaging fumes

Mindful Product Shipping:
All  shipping, both materials in and product out, is  coordinated  to reduce the gasoline usage of freight trucks. By arranging shipment pickups only twice a month, we reduce our direct gasoline usage, and the resulting harmful emissions, by approximately 80 gallons a month.

Shipping Emissions Offset Program (SEOP)
This revolutionary program devised by Greenlight Surfboard Supply does it's best to offset the toxic emissions associated from shipping products. With the Greenlight's SEOP, a portion of the CO2 emissions for each order shipped, whether a single leash plug or a truckload full of blanks,  is offset buy a congruent donation to Trees for the Future Organization to help restore natural tree cover to barren lands, a very cost-effective way to continuously remove carbon dioxide (the major "greenhouse gas") from the global atmosphere.

Paperless Office:
We do all business electronically and the only paper we use (customer receipts and bamboo fabric laminating instruction sheets) are printed on
100%  post consumer waste recycled paper.
